About John ValleJohn played professional baseball for thirteen years. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2nd round as a senior at Holy Cross High School in Flushing, NY, and played his first professional season at Clinton, Iowa. John played his first season under the managing of Jim Leyland, who later went on to manage the Florida Marlins to their first ever World Series. He played 6 years for the Detroit organization, making the All Star team twice. During his professional career, he also played professional ball in Mexico and Venezuela.  During his career he hit almost 200 home runs and played 2nd, 3rd, 1st base and all the outfield positions.

Along with Detroit, he played with the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Oriole organizations. Most recently, he played with the Rochester Red Wings, making the All-Stars team in 1980 and played alongside Cal Ripken in 1981.

John ValleLearning the fundamentals and giving 100% has always been the key instruction received at first from his dad, John Valle Sr, and heard repeated through the years from minor league and big league coaches. John learned that without being a fundamentally sound ballplayer combined with hard work, no player will reach their God-given potential.
